Jennifer Crockett
JayCee Designs
Jennifer of Jaycee Designs is a multi-talented artist, silversmith and enamellist working across a variety of mediums, from jewellery to enamelled dishes and bowls. Her work is defined by a daring use of colour, unexpected materials, and a passion for upcycling and giving new life to vintage objects.
One of Jennifer’s signature jewellery lines features pieces made from reclaimed vintage spoons. She scours antique markets and vintage shops for silver and silver-plated spoons with unique patterns and shapes. These once-ordinary utensils are then carefully transformed into eye-catching necklaces, earrings, bracelets and pins. The spoons' curves become elegant lines, their bowls hold eye catching textures, and their past lives add layers of history and narrative to each piece.
In addition to her spoon jewellery, Jennifer creates distinctive enamelled jewellery using copper, silver and vitreous enamel powders. Her enamelling technique allows her to blend vivid hues and create striking patterns with depth and variation. Simple metal shapes become miniature canvases for her bold, abstract designs and plain copper dishes and bowls become transformed into functional art.
With a keen appreciation for colour theory, form and composition, Jennifer’s work is united by her masterful use of materials and her ability to merge vintage and modern aesthetics. Her art invites the viewer to appreciate beauty in unexpected places and find inspiration in overlooked objects. Each piece has a story behind its creation and a sustainable spirit core to the artist's philosophy.
